I just finished up a few postcards for a swap and for my backgrounds I tried something new to me (these are scans of the backgrounds). I usually gesso up the ying yang then drag out my paints and go to town. This method is so simple and I loved the old warn look it produces. You add many full layers of paper in different text and colour then simply peel away sand and then add a coat of glaze (I used sepia brown to age) on the top layer and there you have it. You could paint each layer if you want but I kind of like the colour of old paper I'm big into browns but I did paint the bottom layer with watered down blue just to add a bit of contrast. One of the layers was a bright wrapping paper the rest old text and the top layer handwritten ledger paper.
Images are free to use in your personal or commercial work, but you may not re-share,distribute ,or claim/infer them to be your own. You may sell your handmade art with LONS images, however images are not to be used in part or whole on/for collage sheets/CD's or any type of Digital downloadThis was fun and easy, a bit messy lots of paper bits but I like the results. I want to dig a bit deeper and expand on this method see where I can take it.
Anywho thought I would share my experiment feel free to download these and use them, this even saves more time and mess.
Until next time take care and have a wonderful weekend Hugs Deborah.
