Old Friends

I have worn many creative hats in my lifetime one of those being a teddy bear artists. I ate, slept, and breathed bears for over 15 years then all of a sudden my desire to create my furry friends left me without warning. Well truthfully there were lots of signs of my bear making days coming to an end but I tried to pretend it was just temporary. Its been about 4 years since I have dug out my needle and thread. Ah but I have kept all my supplies so ones never knows when I will get the urge to make a new friend.
I found two of my mini bears, when cleaning out boxes in our flooded basement the other day. I created these in the very early days of my bear career. These two wee ones were made for my daughter and like many of her childhood toys got put away when she grew to big for them. I totally forgot about these early bears. The brown bear had suffered some water damage but I didn't have the heart to toss him out. I pulled him from the flood waters and dried him out and reunited him with his long lost pal. Pinkie was unharmed by the flood she had the good fortune of resting on top of some beanie babies and stayed clear of the water.
I only have 2 of my own bears most of my creations went to new homes. My daughter is not interested in keeping these two so I have added them to my little hug of old friends. A happy day for all.
Take care hugs Deborah

They're so very cute --- and so very special! I never have the heart to throw out a bear or a doll. What's a little damage, anyway? It can always be repaired. Love your creations. They make me smile!

Definitely keep them! Your daughter may not want those two bears right now but may very well change her mind down the road... I'm surprised you didn't hold onto any others along the way. I've missed seeing any new bears from you for ages now, and I absolutely treasure the ones I have in my collection.

Hey Deb. Glad to see you are still at it. I love your bears. If you ever feel the need to part with either of them let me know! I have collected bears my entire life. I still have my charm you made me in a swap several years ago and I just love it. Becs
